How to Stay Consistent with Marketing When You’re Busy On Site
Read Time 2 mins
Let’s be honest — when you’re knee-deep in site work, the last thing in the world you're probably thinking of is your marketing strategy. But staying visible online is what keeps the pipeline full. So how do you stay consistent without turning into a full-time marketer?
Here are five practical ways to keep your marketing moving:
1. Book time in for yourself
Set aside one morning a month to plan and schedule what you want to do. Whether that's writing out your social media posts for the month ahead, putting together a small series of emails on your next offer or just spending time to make sure your website is up-to-date. Sometimes it just takes booking in the time for yourself to get started.
2. Focus on one tactic at a time
If you're starting out, you don't need to be absolutely everywhere. You'd be much better off doing 1 or 2 tactics really well rather than spreading yourself thin to be places just for the sake of it. So, work out what is best for you. Is social media the place to connect with your audience? Will helpful blogs be more helpful to them? Or perhaps you just need to start emailing your contact base.
3. Reuse what you already have
Have you got a backlog of material that you've already used that you're scared to post more than once? The chances are that your audience hasn't seen them before, and if they have, they probably won't remember. Now, don't post the same thing every other post, obviously! But reusing photos, content topics, videos from time-to-time isn't a problem at all. Don't assume your audience has seen what you've got to offer.
4. Get support
You don’t have to do it all alone - shameless plug - we have a flexible support package, designed for construction companies, that gives you access to 16 hours of expert help each month, so you can stay consistent without the stress.
5. Set realistic goals
You’re not trying to go viral. You’re trying to stay visible, build trust, and win work. Keep it simple and sustainable. Chasing a million views isn't a way to make progress, and realistically even if that happens, how likely is it to win you a significant increase in work?
